Why I Love The Daily Mail

A slagging by the Daily Mail is a rite of passage in the media world, as I’m sure many of you already know.

However, what I didn’t know until the last few years was just how beneficial a Daily Mail Slagging (DMS) would be for my business.

DMS1 – sorry Daily Mail, nothing orchestrated, simply following a process, but then that’s not very sexy, so thanks for making us more exciting!

Four years later…

DMS2 – hmmm, so now you’re misleading readers by associating us with a karate ‘fake’ and a ‘dodgy doc’ – neither of whom had any connection to AI – sorry, we’re much more careful than that DM! (Nb. you will need to read all the way to the end of the article to get to the reference to Awards Intelligence).

Over the last five years these two articles, which would once have been ‘tomorrow’s fish and chip paper’, now appear on page one of Google when you search for Awards Intelligence.

But wait, as I always say, there’s no such thing as bad press! The reason I love the Daily Mail is that they have guided a huge number of great clients to my company, many of whom have now received a well-deserved gong.

I could never have predicted that DMS 1 and 2 would have attracted so many outstanding individuals to our Queen’s honours service.

So thank you Daily Mail, I couldn’t have done it without you.

To be fair though, the Daily Mail did run another interesting story recently which was given to them by an ex-friend of the famous name in question. The article makes clear the source was neither me, nor anyone from AI, which was an accurate surprise (we never divulge who we work with) so this is about as good as it gets for AI from the Daily Mail.

Better late than never!
